Chhatrapur, Feb 20: A youth was found lying in a pool of blood behind a shop near Rikapalli Gate close to Debi Nagar Sahi under Chhatrapur police limits on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as R. Raja Rao of Aruguni village.

According to reports, the gruesome discovery was made early this morning when local residents noticed the body and immediately alerted the Chhatrapur police.

It is suspected that some unidentified miscreants attacked Raja late last night. After killing him, the assailants allegedly dumped his body behind a chicken shop near Rikapalli Gate and fled.

On being informed, Chhatrapur SDPO Chandan Ghadei, along with IIC Sabyasachi Mall and a team of police personnel, rushed to the spot. The body was seized and sent for post‑mortem examination.

Police have cordoned off the area and initiated a detailed investigation into the incident.

While the motive behind the murder is yet to be established, officials are examining possible angles, including personal enmity and criminal rivalry.
