Berhampur, Oct 28: Persistent rainfall in Berhampur has triggered voltage fluctuations, temporarily halting operations of several buses under the city's Ama Bus service.

According to reports, only five buses are operational across the city, with the remaining fleet temporarily grounded due to power-related technical issues.

Officials have stated that full services will resume once the electricity supply stabilizes and the underlying problems are resolved.

Passengers have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and stay updated through official channels.

The transport department is working closely with the electricity board to restore normal operations as soon as possible.

Despite the setback, emergency teams are on standby, and efforts are underway to ensure that essential routes remain covered. The Berhampur Municipal Corporation has assured that normal operations will resume soon.

Berhampur Ama Bus Services is a part of the Ama Bus network, run by the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), which has expanded into areas like Berhampur and other districts in Odisha. While Ama Bus is most prominently known for services in the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri capital region, CRUT has extended this brand to provide public transport in other regions, including the Ganjam district where Berhampur is located.
