Cuttack, Dec 7: Heavy traffic gripped the busy streets of Badambadi in Cuttack this morning following collision between two buses.

According to reports, the accident took place around 8:30 a.m. near the central bus stand, one of the city’s most congested transit points.

Eyewitnesses reported that both buses were attempting to maneuver through the crowded stretch when the collision took place.

The impact was severe enough to block multiple lanes, instantly halting the flow of vehicles.

Panic spread among commuters as passengers soon after the incident.

Police and emergency services rushed to the spot, diverting traffic and assisting passengers. The collision led to a massive traffic jam stretching several kilometers, affecting office‑goers, and goods carriers.

Authorities struggled to clear the wreckage as hundreds of stranded commuters expressed frustration over the delay.

Local shopkeepers and residents said such accidents are becoming increasingly common in the Badambadi area due to reckless driving and overcrowded roads. Officials from the Cuttack Traffic Police confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the collision.
