Bhubaneswar, Sept 3: Jagabandhu Chand, husband of controversial figure Archana Nag, was detained on Wednesday after a complaint of attempt to murder was registered against him with Mancheswar police.
According to the FIR filed late on Tuesday night, Jagabandhu reached Archana’s home in an inebriated state and reportedly abused her verbally. Then he allegedly broke into her residence armed with a knife and tried to attack her and their son.
Acting on the complaint, police detained Jagabandhu.
A knife was reportedly recovered from Jagabandhu's posession during the intervention, raising further concerns about the nature of the disturbance.
Later, Jagabandhu was taken into custody and he is currently being interrogated.

✨The incident comes amid an ongoing divorce case between the two, which is currently pending in court. Archana and Jagabandhu have been living separately, and tensions between them have reportedly intensified in recent months.
This is not the first time the couple has made headlines. Both have previously been under scrutiny for alleged involvement in extortion and honey-trap cases, with investigations by the Enforcement Directorate still underway.
