Bhubaneswar, Dec 19: Forest officials have stepped up efforts to treat an ailing elephant that was recently spotted in a weakened condition at the Chandaka forest range.
This intervention comes as part of ongoing efforts to protect wildlife in Chandaka and ensure timely medical care for elephants in distress.
According to reports, the elephant was spotted with signs of illness, prompting concern among authorities.
Soon a specialised team was dispatched to the dense forest area to keep a close watch on the elephant.

✨More than 20 forest personnel are involved in the operation, supported by drone surveillance to track the tusker’s movements.
The elephant is currently within a herd of five, and officials have planned to tranquilize it only after it separates from the group to ensure safety.
A medical team is on standby to provide immediate treatment once the tranquilization is successful.
Authorities have emphasised that the operation is being
carried out with utmost caution to safeguard both the tusker and the herd.
