Cuttack, Dec 27: A tragic incident was reported from Urali village under Cuttack Sadar police station limits, where an inmate was found hanging inside the de-addiction centre.

The deceased has been identified as Yashobanta Das (58), a resident of Telengapentha area in Cuttack.

According to preliminary information, Yashobanta's body was discovered hanging from the bathroom shower.

On being informed, Police from Cuttack Sadar station rushed to the spot, seized the body, and initiated an investigation.

Authorities are probing the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine whether foul play was involved.

The incident has raised concerns about safety and monitoring inside rehabilitation centres.
