Sambalpur, Nov 26: At least 10 persons sustained injuries after the passenger bus they were travelling in skidded off the road near Jerenga Dehurisahi village under Jarpada police limits in Sambalpur district.

According to reports, the bus was en route to Binikei from Angul with over 50 passengers on board. The incident occurred after the driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels.

The mishap left at least 10 passengers seriously injured, while several others sustained minor injuries.

Preliminary information suggests that the driver may have suffered a sudden epileptic seizure (fits), causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

Local villagers rushed to the spot and assisted in rescuing the trapped passengers.

Soon emergency services were alerted, and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Authorities are investigating the incident, while traffic on the busy highway was briefly disrupted due to rescue operations.
