New Delhi, Jan 13: Delhi University hosted a special program under the Drug-Free Campus Campaign, with Vice President CP Radhakrishnan attending as the chief guest.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan joined as the guest of honour and lauded the university’s initiative in combating the growing challenge of substance abuse among students.
Highlighting the seriousness of the issue, officials shared alarming statistics: nearly 67% of children below 19 years of age are affected by drugs, while 52% of youth between 16 and 20 years fall prey to addiction. At an age when students should be focused on education, many are instead being drawn into this dangerous trap.

To address this crisis, the nationwide Drug-Free India
Campaign was launched in 2020. Delhi University’s active participation in this
mission has been welcomed and appreciated by the Education Minister, who
emphasized that this vision aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP).
