Bengaluru, Nov 3: In a gruesome act, a domestic worker in Bengaluru’s Bagalur area has been caught brutally killing a pet puppy inside a lift of an apartment.  

The video of the act has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage and calls for justice.  

Although the incident took place on October 31, the matter came to fore after a police complaint was lodged against the domestic worker.

According to the preliminary investigation, the puppy, named Goofy, belonged to Raashi Poojari, a resident of the apartment complex. The footage shows the domestic worker, identified as Pushpalatha, violently smashing the puppy onto the lift floor.

She was later seen carrying the lifeless body out of the elevator.

Pupalatha was hired specifically to take care of the dog.

Following the incident, the pet owner filed a police complaint, prompting an official investigation.

The Bengaluru police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Indian Penal Code and further investigation is underway.
