New Delhi, Nov 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid homage to India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, on his 125th birth anniversary.

In a post shared on X, PM Modi wrote, “Tributes to former Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Ji on the occasion of his birth anniversary.”

The message comes as the nation celebrates Nehru Jayanti, which is also observed as Children’s Day in honour of Nehru’s deep affection for children and his commitment to their welfare.

Pandit Nehru, who served as Prime Minister from 1947 to 1964, is remembered for laying the foundation of India’s democratic institutions and promoting scientific and educational advancement.

His birth anniversary is commemorated nationwide with various events, especially in schools, to celebrate his vision for a progressive and inclusive India.
