New Delhi, Nov 30: At least four people lost their lives after a massive fire broke out at a fourstorey residential building in Delhi late Saturday night.

 

The incident occurred in a densely populated locality, sending panic among residents as thick smoke engulfed the area.

 

According to officials, the blaze started on the ground floor and quickly spread upwards, trapping many occupants inside.

 

Firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving distress calls and deployed multiple fire tenders to bring the flames under control.

 

Rescue operations continued for several hours as teams worked to evacuate residents from the building.

Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos as families scrambled to escape, with some residents forced to climb down balconies to save themselves. Despite the swift response, four lives were lost, and several others were hospitalised due to smoke inhalation and burn injuries.

 

Authorities suspect that an electrical short circuit may have triggered the fire, though the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.
