New Delhi, Feb 21: A delivery boy was killed after he was hit by speeding car in West Delhi's Subhash Nagar area in the early hours of Saturday.

The victim has been identified as Hem Shakar, a resident of Raghubir Nagar. He was riding an electric scooty at the time of the accident.

According to reports, the accident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. when the motorcycle being ridden by the delivery boy was hit by the car. The impact was so severe that the victim died on the spot.

On being informed about the incident, police officials rushed to the spot and began an investigation.

While a case has been registered, on the other hand, the vehicle has been seized, and the accused driver, Mohit Kumar, a resident of Najafgarh who works as an MCD contractor, has been taken into custody.

The victim's body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Further investigation into the circumstances leading to the crash is underway.
