Bhubaneswar, Dec 24: If there was one thing that united India in 2025, it was the nation’s insatiable love for food. From biryani binges to late‑night burger runs, chai‑samosa rituals to chocolate cake indulgences, Indians turned to their favourite meals at every hour of the day.

The 10th edition of ‘How India Swiggy’d’ has revealed fascinating insights into the country’s food ordering habits.

Swiggy users ordered a staggering 93 million biryanis in 2025 — that’s 194 plates every minute, or 3.25 plates every second.

Chicken Biryani led the pack with 57.7 million orders and the highest repeat rates, cementing its place as India’s ultimate comfort food.

Other favourites weren’t far behind. Burgers clocked 44.2 million orders, pizzas followed with 40.1 million, while the humble veg dosa made its mark with 26.2 million orders.

The report highlights not just India’s diverse food cravings but also the dedication of delivery partners who travelled far and wide to keep plates full across the nation.
