Mumbai, Jan 16: Speculation surrounding the personal life of actor Dhanush has intensified, with several media outlets and social media posts suggesting that the Raanjhanaa star may tie the knot with actress Mrunal Thakur on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026. The reports claim that the ceremony could be a private affair attended only by family members and close friends.
Neither Dhanush, 42, nor Mrunal, 33, has issued any confirmation regarding the alleged wedding plans. Both actors have remained silent on the matter, despite growing chatter online.
The rumours first surfaced in August last year after a video from the premiere of Son of Sardaar 2 showed the two together. Mrunal’s presence at the wrap party of Dhanush’s film Tere Ishq Mein further fuelled speculation. Observers also noted that Mrunal follows Dhanush’s sisters, Dr. Karthika Karthik and Vimala Geetha, on Instagram, adding to the conjecture.
However, Mrunal has previously clarified in interviews that Dhanush is “just a good friend” and that her appearance at the screening was at the invitation of co-star Ajay Devgn. She has consistently denied being in a romantic relationship with the actor.

Dhanush was earlier married to Aishwarya Rajinikanth, daughter of superstar Rajinikanth. The couple, who wed in 2004, announced their separation in 2022 after 18 years of marriage. They share two sons, Yatra (19) and Linga (15).
With no official statement from either party, the
speculation remains unverified. Industry insiders suggest that the rumours
reflect the intense public interest in celebrity relationships, particularly
when involving high-profile actors from different film industries.
