Kanyakumari, Sep 27: A YouTuber couple in Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari allegedly lost around 944 grams of gold and a substantial amount of cash after their home was burgled, with police also examining whether their social media activity may have provided information about the valuables kept at the house.
The incident took place at VIP Garden in Thammathukonam, where YouTuber couple Vinod Kumar and Madhumitha live with their daughter.
According to a report, the burglary allegedly took place at night. Unidentified thieves reportedly broke open the rear door of the house, entered a room and fled with the gold and cash.
The couple became known for displaying cash and gold in their vlogs. A video featuring a large amount of cash and gold is now among the material being examined as part of the investigation.
Police Examine CCTV Footage
After discovering the burglary, the YouTuber lodged a complaint at Rajakkamangalam police station. Police registered an FIR and began investigating the case.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage from cameras installed at the house and in the surrounding area in an attempt to identify the suspected thieves and determine how they entered the locality.
Police are also trying to establish the sequence of events and whether the burglars had prior information about the house or its occupants.
