Patna, Sep 25: A few days after the Jamui incident came to light, another horrific case of harassment in Bihar has sent shockwaves across the country. Bihar Police registered a case against three men in connection with the alleged harassment of a young woman at the historic Mandar Hill in Banka district, after a video of the incident surfaced on social media.
According to a press release issued by Banka Police on Friday, an objectionable video from the Mandar Hill premises came to the attention of local police through social media. Police received the video on WhatsApp on September 22 and subsequently began an investigation.
Woman Harassed At Mandar Hill
According to police, the woman had visited Mandar Hill with two friends on June 3. Three men seen in the viral video held her hand and subjected her to indecent behaviour, verbal abuse and threats.
The three men have been identified by police as Abdulla, Nitish Kumar Ray and Vikas Kumar.

The police said that after the incident, Abdulla asked one of the woman's friends to transfer Rs 1,500 online to his account. Following the transfer, the woman and her companion were allowed to leave.

Case Registered Under BNS, IT Act
Acting on the information received through social media, a team led by Bounsi police station SHO Pankaj Kumar Jha reached Mandar Hill and verified the location shown in the video. Police also examined the video as part of the investigation.
Bounsi police registered Case No. 248/26 under Sections 74, 75, 76 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 66E and 67A of the Information Technology Act.
Police Conduct Raids To Arrest Accused
Banka Police said raids were being conducted to arrest the three men named in the case. The police said efforts were continuing to apprehend Abdulla, Nitish Kumar Ray and Vikas Kumar, and that their arrests were expected soon.
The viral video is being examined as part of the investigation, police said.
