PM Modi Concludes 3-Day US Visit, Departs For India After Series Of Bilateral Talks

A new program has been initiated, and centres will be established for the program's purpose. As many as 3000 students will be enrolled in this program at Utkal University. This program is open to both PG and UG students. The opportunity to enroll students will also be extended to affiliated colleges under Utkal University. Ten university students will also embark on an educational tour each academic year as part of an additional attempt to gain further knowledge.

 “The New Education Policy (NEP) 2024 aims to integrate vocational education into the schoolsystem to assist students in becoming skilled workers and entrepreneurs,” stated Utkal vice-chancellor Prof. Sabita Acharya.

The university serves as a resource to inspire students to pursue further education in entrepreneurship, added Acharya.

Earlier under the guidance of the Former VC, steps were taken in addition to establishing innovation and startup parks from both its existing and new campuses in Chandikhol, Utkal will run teacher and student exchange programs. The Center's Rashtriya Uchhatar Siksha Abhiyan (RUSA) 2.0 will provide funding for the program.

The project's centre will be the new campus in Chandikhol. According to the former vice-chancellor, most of the development work associated with this partnership will be done on the new campus.

The only university in the state chosen for the program is Utkal University.

Osmania University, Guru Nanak Dev University, Savitribai Phule University, Kurukshetra University, Alagappa University, Jadavpur University, Sri Venkateswara University, Andhra University, and the University of Jammu are the other nine universities chosen from across the nation.

In a reflection to BJD’s recent poll debacle, party’s national spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Majhi, who lost the Nabarangpur Lok Sabha seat, pointed out that speculation on pre-poll alliance, internal infighting and poor election management are the three main reasons behind the party's loss.

Speaking at a meeting with BJD’s organizational workers from Nabarangpur and Kalahandi districts before BJD president Naveen Patnaik at Sankha Bhawan here on Monday, Majhi said that due to the speculation about the potential alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), their party lost credibility among the minority, particularly the Christian community.

Majhi also pointed out that infighting among party leaders weakened the BJD’s support base during the elections. However, he didn’t take any name of party leaders allegedly involved in infighting.

The Tribal leader further said that the party’s poor strategy and bad election management were the other reasons for the poll debacle.

In the 2024 elections, the BJD secured 51 seats of total 147 seats in State Assembly, against 112 seats in the 2019 polls. Similarly, the BJD failed to win a single seat out of 21 Lok Sabha seats in the State this year.

At closing, Sensex was down 14 points at 84,914 and Nifty was up one point at 25,940.

Intraday, Sensex and Nifty made a new all-time high of 85,163 and 26,011 respectively.

Selling was seen in the banking stocks. Nifty Bank settled at 53,968, down 137 points or 0.25 per cent.

Nifty midcap 100 index was up 138 points or 0.23 per cent at 60,850 and Nifty smallcap 100 index was down 108 points or 0.56 per cent at 19,440.

Among the sectoral indices, Auto, IT, pharma, metal, energy, infra and PSE were major gainers. PSU Bank, fin service, FMCG, realty and pvt bank were major losers.

Vikram Kasat, Head - Advisory, PL Capital - Prabhudas Lilladher said: "Several factors contributed to this rally, including strong corporate earnings, resilient macroeconomic indicators, and increased foreign institutional investor (FII) inflows."

"The market momentum was further bolstered by a bullish outlook on India’s economic growth, supported by expectations of structural reforms and Investor optimism around the Indian economy's ability to withstand global headwinds, such as inflationary pressures and geopolitical uncertainties, added to the positive sentiment," he added.

In the Sensex pack, Tata Steel, Power Grid, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, M&M, JSW Steel, Wipro, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, Maruti Suzuki, TCS, and L&T were the top gainers. HUL, UltraTech Cement, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Titan, Nestle, and Bajaj Finance were the top losers.

Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst, LKP Securities said: "The Nifty traded within a narrow range today, taking a breather after a three-day rally. The short-term sentiment remains positive, with the index staying above the critical 21-day EMA, supported by a bullish crossover in the daily RSI."

"However, for the rally to continue, the Nifty must decisively break above the 26,000 level. Until then, we expect range-bound movement, with the index fluctuating between 25,800 and 26,000 over the next few hours to a few days."
