Mumbai, Sept 9: On his 57th birthday Monday, Akshay Kumar announced that he is joining forces with director Priyadarshan once again after 14 years for the upcoming horror comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’.

Akshay took to X, formerly called Twitter, where he shared the motion poster of the film. In the image, Akshay is seen having milk in a bowl with a black cat standing on his shoulder.

“Thank you for your love on my birthday, year after year! Celebrating this year with the first look of ‘Bhooth Bangla'! I’m beyond excited to join forces with Priyadarshan again after 14 years,” wrote the actor, who last worked with the filmmaker in 2010 in the film "Khatta Meetha".

Tagging it as a “dream collaboration", he added: “This dream collaboration has been a long time coming… can’t wait to share this incredible journey with you all. Stay tuned for the magic!”

Other details of the film, which will hit the big screens in 2025, are still under wraps.

Akshay and Priyadarshan have given several blockbusters together including “Hera Pheri”, “De Dana Dan”, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”, “Garam Masala” and “Khatta Meetha” to name a few.

It was on September 7, when Akshay, who was recently seen in ‘Khel Khel Mein’, hinted at a new project and shared that he will be sharing the news on his birthday with his fans.

He took to his Instagram, and shared a motion poster featuring an ominous metal evil face against a backdrop of royal red curtains.

He wrote in the caption, “Ganpati Bappa Morya! What could be better than a day like today to hint at something special coming your way? The reveal is set for my birthday. Stay tuned! #SpecialAnnouncement”.

4 Killed In Explosion At Firecracker Factory In UP's Firozabad

Firozabad, Sep 17: Four persons, including a three-year-old girl and a woman, were killed after an explosion occurred at a firecracker godown-cum-factory in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district, police said on Tuesday.

Six persons were injured in the incident, which took place in the factory located in the Naushera area under Shikohabad police station limits on Monday night, a senior police official said.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem and the injured have been hospitalised, the official said.

"In Shikohabad police station area, firecrackers were stored at a house and a blast occurred there. Due to the impact of the blast, the roof of a nearby house collapsed. Police took out 10 people from the debris... six people are undergoing treatment at a hospital and four people have died... further rescue operation is still underway," said Deepak Kumar, IG, Agra Range, said.

The house has collapsed due to the explosion and several people are feared to be trapped under rubble, the police added.

A team of fire and police departments, and district administration are engaged in relief work under supervision of the Superintendent of Police and CMO officials, Kumar added.

According to local residents, around 10.30 p.m., there was a sudden blast in the firecracker godown due to which the walls of the building collapsed and about seven people of the same family living in it got buried under the debris.

According to information obtained from the district hospital, the deceased have been identified as Meera Devi (45), Aman (20), Gautam Kushwaha (18) and Kumari Ichha (3).

Responding to a question, Kumar said permission for any type of firecracker godown is prohibited in densely populated areas.

Necessary action will be taken in the matter after gathering information on how this godown was operating in a densely populated area, he added.

The senior police officer said a state disaster response force (SDRF) team will also reach the spot soon so that relief and rescue work can be expedited.

Meanwhile, Firozabad District Magistrate Ramesh Ranjan said that the rescue operations are underway.

"Rescue team is present at the spot. District hospital and sub-district hospital, both are on high alert... team of doctors, ambulance, fire team, disaster team, all are present at the spot," Ranjan added.

Maharashtra is also making every possible effort to fulfill Prime Minister Modi's resolve of making the country a 5 trillion economy. I want to say that the 21st century is India's century because the captain of the country is Prime Minister Modi. I wish him a very happy birthday," Shinde added.

Famous sand sculptor Sudarsan Pattnaik also extended birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"May Mahaprabhu's blessings be with you always and your dreams of a Viksit Bharat be realized. Happy birthday, Hon Prime Minister @narendramodi ji," he wrote on X

On this occasion, he also dedicated a sand art to PM Modi.

"Please accept my good wishes through this sand art installation in New Delhi. Jai Jagannath!" he added.

On his 74th birthday, Narendra Modi on Tuesday will inaugurate 26 lakh PM Awas houses at Gadakana in Bhubaneswar.

According to Police Commissioner Bhubaneswar Sanjeev Panda, after arriving at Bhubaneswar airport, PM Modi will proceed to the Gadakana slum area near Sainik School of Bhubaneswar.

During his stay in the slum, PM Modi is scheduled to interact with the PM Awas beneficiaries.

The PM will leave the slum and later go to the Janata Maidan, where he will launch the Subhadra Yojana.
