The bypass aims to ease traffic congestion and reduce accidents in and around Sambalpur city.

With land acquisition, forest department clearance, and survey work completed, the project is ready for execution. The bypass will divert heavy vehicles coming from Bargarh, Sonepur, Angul, Deogarh, and Jharsuguda, preventing them from entering the city and thereby reducing traffic pressure and road mishaps.

The bypass is expected to be a major boost for trade and transport in the region, saving up to two hours of travel time for commuters and cargo movement.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has reviewed the project multiple times during his visits to Sambalpur and emphasized its importance for regional development.

The construction is scheduled to be completed within two years, marking a significant milestone in Odisha’s infrastructure expansion.
