Balasore, Dec 6: Panic gripped District Headquarter Hospital in Balasore after a fire broke out in the hospital’s housekeeping room this morning.

While no casualties or injuries were reported, initial inquiry pointed towards a short circuit.

According to initial reports, the blaze was swiftly brought under control by the fire department personnel who rushed to the scene.

The sight of smoke billowing into the ward led to chaos, with patients and attendants, some clutching saline bottles, hastily evacuating the hospital building. However, the hospital staff immediately alerted Balasore fire personnel who reached the spot and doused the flames.

While the exact cause of the fire remains unclear, authorities have confirmed that no significant damage has been caused to the hospital’s medical facilities. Patients and staff were reported safe, and hospital operations continued without major disruption.
