Bhubaneswar, Oct 31: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi joined the nation in commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, widely revered as the Iron Man of India, by participating in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations held in Bhubaneswar.

The Chief Minister took part in the ‘Run for Unity’, where hundreds of citizens, students, and government officials gathered to honour Patel’s enduring legacy.

The event was part of a series of state-wide programs aimed at promoting the ideals of national unity, integrity, and self-reliance.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, was instrumental in integrating over 560 princely states into the Indian Union. His birth anniversary, observed annually as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on October 31, serves as a reminder of his unmatched contribution to the nation’s unity.

The Odisha government, aligning with the national spirit, organised events across districts to mark the occasion, encouraging citizens to embrace Patel’s ideals of patriotism, discipline, and unity.
