Baripada, Oct 21: A shocking incident of violence unfolded late Monday night at a roadside eatery named ‘Kathmandu Dhaba’ located in Murgabadi under Bhanjapur Police Station limits in Baripada town, Mayurbhanj district.

Around eight armed youths stormed into the dhaba and created panic by threatening the owner and staff at gunpoint.

Eyewitnesses reported that the group entered the premises aggressively and got into a heated argument with the dhaba owner. When the staff tried to intervene, the miscreants brandished firearms and physically assaulted both the owner and employees. The sudden outbreak of violence left the workers terrified and injured.

Upon receiving the alert, Bhanjapur police rushed to the scene and began an investigation. The attackers had fled by the time locals arrived, but in their haste, they abandoned a Bullet GT motorcycle, which has since been seized by the police. Authorities are now using the vehicle as a lead to trace the culprits.

The incident has sparked concern among residents and business owners in the area, raising questions about public safety and the growing audacity of criminal elements. Police have intensified their search and are reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence to identify and apprehend the accused.

Local sources suggest that the attackers may have had prior disputes with the dhaba owner, though the exact motive remains unclear.
