Kendrapara, Sep 20: The body of a woman who was dragged into the river by a crocodile near Benakanda village under Mahakalpada block was recovered early this morning.

According to reports, the victim was near the riverbank when the crocodile suddenly lunged at her and pulled her into the water. Despite immediate search efforts by villagers, she remained untraceable. However, the woman's lifeless body was discovered in the river this morning.

The incident has sparked renewed concerns over human-crocodile conflicts in the region, especially in villages bordering the Bhitarkanika National Park, which is known for its dense population of saltwater crocodiles.
