Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), Odisha, has achieved a remarkable milestone by registering a record 5.15 million passengers flying to and from the capital city.


This achievement not only reflects the growing importance of Bhubaneswar as a hub for air travel but also highlights the state’s expanding connectivity with the rest of the country.


With this surge in passenger traffic, BPIA has secured the 13th position among airports nationwide, marking a proud moment for Odisha. The ranking underscores the airport’s steady growth in infrastructure, services, and operational efficiency, making it one of the fastest‑rising aviation centers in eastern India.


Currently, flight operations from BPIA connect travellers to 25 destinations across India, offering greater convenience for both business and leisure passengers. The expansion of routes has significantly boosted tourism, trade, and cultural exchange, strengthening Odisha’s presence on the national map.
