Rayagada, Jan 14: In a shocking incident, four minors sustained serious injuries in a firecracker explosion that occurred late last night in Yedu Sahi area of Rayagada town.
The injured, identified as K. Yagi, D. Shankar, and G. Nikhil, residents of Yedu Sahi were initially rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital for primary treatment. Later, they were shifted to Visakhapatnam for advanced medical care. All the victims were reportedly teenagers, aged between 13 and 18 years.
Sources said that the condition of two remains critical.
According to preliminary information, the incident took place when the victims were reportedly making firecrackers in front of a house. During the process, an unexpected explosion occurred, causing severe injuries to those involved.
The intensity of the blast was so strong that cement portions of a nearby house roof got damaged, while windows and doors were shattered. Additionally, the glass of a nearby auto rickshaw was also broken due to the impact of the explosion.

After receiving information about the incident, Rayagada Town Police immediately reached the spot and initiated an investigation to find out the cause of the explosion.
