Mumbai, Nov 7: Sulakshana Pandit, the celebrated actor and playback singer who graced Indian cinema in the 1970s and 1980s, passed away on Thursday evening following a cardiac arrest. She was 71.
Her brother, renowned music composer Lalit Pandit, confirmed the news, stating that Sulakshana had complained of breathlessness earlier in the day.
She was being taken to Nanavati hospital but died before could reach the hospital, her brother stated.
Sulakshana Pandit made her acting debut in 1975 with Uljhan, opposite Sanjeev Kumar, and quickly rose to prominence with her performances in films such as Chehre Pe Chehra, Sankoch, Hera Pheri, Khandaan, and Dharam Kanta.
She worked alongside some of Bollywood’s biggest stars, including Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor, and Vinod Khanna.
