New Delhi, Feb 12: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited IIT Delhi on Wednesday, where he engaged in a significant dialogue with founders of Indian AI start-ups that are transforming the education sector.

 

Highlighting the crucial role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing education and skill development, Pradhan stressed on AI-driven solutions, which will play a pivotal role in shaping India’s future.

 

The Union Education Minister expressed delight that many of these start-up founders hail from middle-class families and Tier-3 cities, bringing with them a deep understanding of India’s real educational challenges. He praised their commitment to designing solutions rooted in Indian culture, languages, and contexts, and encouraged them to continue innovating with a “From India to the World” vision.

Dharmendra Pradhan assured full government support in building digital public infrastructure (DPI) for education and reaffirmed India’s academic sovereignty. He emphasized that “Swadeshi AI” will revolutionize the education sector, making learning more accessible, inclusive, and future-ready.

During his visit, Union Minister Pradhan also laid the foundation stone for a new academic block and a girls’ hostel at the IIT Delhi campus. These facilities are expected to enhance research opportunities and academic excellence for students. He expressed confidence that the new infrastructure will empower learners to achieve greater success in both research and academics.

 

The event was also attended by Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship & Education, and Sukanta Majumdar, Minister of State for Education.
