Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: Odisha is witnessing a steady rise in temperatures as the impact of winter has begun to decline since Makar Sankranti.
Over the past five days, most parts of the state have recorded a noticeable increase in both minimum and maximum temperatures.
According to the Meteorological Department, the trend is
expected to continue due to successive western disturbances, leading to warmer
days and nights in the coming week.

Meteorologists note that the rise in mercury is typical for this time of year, as the state transitions from peak winter towards pre-summer conditions. The absence of strong cold winds and the influence of western disturbances have contributed to the warming trend.
Residents can expect mild mornings with fog in select areas,
but overall, the weather is likely to remain pleasant and dry. With no
immediate warnings of severe cold, Odisha appears to be moving past the
harshest phase of winter.
