This project is not just a routine telecom assignment but a strategic move to strengthen Odisha Police’s cyber investigation infrastructure. With cyber fraud, phishing, and digital scams rising across India, state police forces are increasingly focusing on advanced technology and skilled manpower. Odisha’s decision is being seen as a milestone in digital policing.

RailTel, which manages telecom networks for Indian Railways, has in recent years expanded its portfolio to include IT services, data centres, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and e-governance projects for government departments.

The Odisha Police contract reflects RailTel’s growing expertise and the trust government agencies place in its capabilities.

Officials believe the partnership will significantly boost Odisha Police’s ability to investigate cyber and financial crimes. It will enable scientific analysis of digital evidence, strengthen financial trail tracking, and improve response time in cybercrime cases. The deployment of experts is expected to enhance efficiency and accuracy in investigations, ultimately helping protect citizens from digital fraud.

RailTel has been securing major government projects across India, and this order further strengthens its position in the cybersecurity and digital forensics domain. As more such projects are awarded, RailTel is likely to emerge as a key technology partner in India’s digital security ecosystem.
