Argus News - Shikhar Dhawan Ties Knot With Long-Time Girlfriend Sophie Shine

New Delhi, Feb 22: After dating for few years, former Indian cricket team batter Shikhar Dhawan and his long-time girlfriend Sophie Shine tied knot in a private wedding ceremony in Delhi NCR.

Dhawan, fondly known as “Gabbar” among fans, had gone public about his relationship with Sophie Shine in May 2025.

Wedding celebrations included traditional ceremonies such as sangeet and haldi, with glimpses shared on social media by the couple and their friends. Fellow cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal posted photos from the event with the caption “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai,” while Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and Indian cricket star Virat Kohli also congratulated Dhawan, calling him “Jatt Ji” and wishing him happiness.

This marriage comes after Dhawan’s separation from his first wife, with whom he had faced custody issues.

Dhawan and Shine were first spotted together during a Champions Trophy 2025 match in Dubai.

The Ireland-born professional has an impressive academic background from Castleroy College. She currently serves as Second Vice President at Northern Trust Corporation, based in Abu Dhabi. Sophie completed her entire education in Ireland. She now heads the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Da One Sports.

The wedding pictures have gone viral, with Sophie Shine now officially stepping into the limelight as Dhawan’s partner.
