Bhubaneswar, Apr 10: Odisha has emerged victorious at the 69th National School Rugby Championship 2025–26, securing the top position in both boys’ and girls’ under-14 categories. The prestigious national-level tournament, which spanned five days, concluded with a grand celebration at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar.

Bihar showcased strong performances to finish as runners-up in both categories, while Maharashtra claimed third place, highlighting the championship's competitive spirit. The event brought together young athletes from across the country, fostering not only sporting excellence but also camaraderie and discipline among schoolchildren.

The closing ceremony was graced by Nityananda Gond, Minister of School & Mass Education, who attended as the chief guest. He felicitated the winning teams and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors. In his address, Gond praised the enthusiasm and discipline of the young players, emphasizing that such platforms are crucial for identifying sporting talent at the grassroots level.
