New Delhi, Sep 21: The Cycling Federation of India (CFI) on Sunday confirmed that India will host the prestigious Asian Track and Para Track Cycling Championship in 2029.
The announcement follows a successful bid approved by the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) during its management committee meeting held earlier this week.
Taking to the Instagram handle, the federation wrote: ""India has successfully bid for and been awarded the Asian Track Cycling Championships 2029".
The championship, which will bring together elite cyclists and para-athletes from across Asia, is expected to be held at a world-class velodrome facility, with preparations already underway to upgrade infrastructure and training programs.

✨Reacting to the development, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya hailed the achievement as a testament to India’s growing stature in global sports. “This reflects India’s rising sporting capabilities and its emergence as a global sports hub under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Mandaviya stated.
The event will mark a major milestone in India’s efforts to promote cycling and para-sports, offering a platform for homegrown talent to compete at the highest level.
