Dubai, Sep 5: India produced a dominant all-round performance to bowl Pakistan out for their lowest-ever women’s T20I score of 55 before chasing down the target in just 8.4 overs in their Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Group A clash in Dubai on Saturday.

The emphatic victory gave India their third consecutive win and confirmed their place at the top of Group A. India’s spinners did most of the damage, with N Sree Charani and Prema Rawat claiming three wickets each, while Deepti Sharma took two and Shafali Verma one.

The victory also marked a landmark occasion for India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who became the first cricketer, male or female, to captain in 150 T20I matches.

Pakistan Collapse After Electing To Bat
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana’s decision to bat first backfired as India’s disciplined bowling attack exploited the conditions at the Dubai International Stadium.

Pakistan made a brisk start through openers Shawaal Zulfiqar and Muneeba Ali, but the innings quickly unravelled after Muneeba was bowled by Shafali for 13.

Charani then struck twice in the final powerplay, dismissing Gull Feroza for a duck and trapping Shawaal lbw for 14. She later claimed her third wicket when Ayesha Zafar was caught at mid-on by Harmanpreet.

Pakistan slipped from 27 without loss to 55 for six as the wickets continued to fall.

Spin Attack Leaves Pakistan Struggling
Rawat joined the attack by bowling Sadaf Shamas, while Deepti trapped Pakistan captain Fatima Sana lbw for a duck.

Eyman Fatima briefly resisted with a boundary off Rawat but was run out for five following a mix-up with Umm-e-Hani. Rawat then dismissed Umm-e-Hani before catching Nashra Sandhu off her own bowling to finish with 3-9.

Charani completed an outstanding spell with 3-7 from her four overs, extracting sharp turn and maintaining tight control of her length.

Deepti then ended Pakistan’s innings in the 19th over by deceiving Tuba Hassan, who was stumped by Richa Ghosh for nine.

Pakistan were all out for 55 in 18.1 overs, their lowest-ever total in women’s T20Is.

India Chase Down 56 In 8.4 Overs
India needed only 56 runs for victory and reached the target in 8.4 overs, with 68 balls to spare.

The result underlined India’s dominance in Group A, with the side remaining unbeaten through the league stage and finishing top of the group.
