Ahmedabad, Dec 20: Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya produced a blistering knock in the fifth and final T20I against South Africa Ahmedabad on Friday, but one of his towering sixes led to an unexpected incident off the field.

During the 13th over of India’s innings, Pandya smashed a flat six over long-off that accidentally struck a cameraman on the shoulder. The cameraman was immediately attended to by the team physio, who applied an ice pack to ease the pain.

After the match concluded, Pandya walked straight over to check on the injured cameraman. In a heartwarming gesture, he was seen personally applying the ice pack, offered words of comfort, and gave him a reassuring hug.

The cameraman responded with a smile and a thumbs-up, signaling he was fine.

Pandya’s act of sportsmanship drew applause from fans and commentators alike, with many praising his concern for the well-being of those working behind the scenes.

On the field, Pandya was equally impressive, smashing 63 runs off just 25 balls, including five sixes and five boundaries. He also claimed the crucial wicket of Dewald Brevis, helping India secure a 30-run victory and clinch the five-match series 3–1.

The incident highlighted not only Pandya’s explosive batting but also his humility and empathy, reinforcing his reputation as one of India’s most charismatic cricketers.

Batting first, India posted a formidable 231/5, powered by half-centuries from Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya.
