Bhubaneswar/Cuttack, Dec 31: As the countdown to New Year’s Eve celebrations begins, Commissionerate Police has announced a “Zero Tolerance on Zero Night” policy to ensure safety and order in the Twin City.
Police Commissioner S. Devdutta Singh stated that strict rules will be enforced across bars, hotels, clubs, and event organizers. Revellers are encouraged to enjoy responsibly—celebrate with fun and music, but avoid drunken behaviour. Those found intoxicated or creating nuisance on the streets will spend the night in police custody instead of welcoming the New Year at parties.
Special instructions have been issued for establishments to
maintain visible entry and exit signage, ensure electrical safety, and strictly
adhere to permitted celebration timings. Owners and managers will be held
accountable for violations.
