Jagatsinghpur, Oct 25: Tension gripped Yogadhari Chhak on Friday night after a youth was brutally hacked to death by unidentified miscreants.

The deceased, Gyana Ranjan Pothal, a resident of Pokapur village, was running a betel shop in the area.

According to reports, the matter came to light after locals alerted the police about the incident, who then rushed to the spot and launched a probe into the incident.

While the motive behind the murder remains unclear, the assailants are yet to be identified.

Police have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from nearby establishments.

Forensic teams have also visited the scene to collect evidence.

Meanwhile, the incident has sparked outrage among local residents, who have demanded swift action against the culprits and increased security in the area to prevent such incidents in the future.

Gyana Ranjan’s body has been sent for post-mortem, and authorities are interrogating nearby residents and shopkeepers to gather leads.
