Argus News - Youth Arrested For Sexually Assaulting And Blackmailing Minor Girl In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Nov 30: Police at the Mahila Police Station here have arrested a youth for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl and subsequently blackmailing her.

The accused reportedly recorded a video of the gruesome crime to extort money from the victim.

The incident came to light after the victim lodged a complaint against the accused youth, identified as Bibhuti Bhushan Sethi.

According to police reports, the accused allegedly raped the girl and later threatened to make a video of the incident viral. 

The accused reportedly demanded money from the victim under the threat of releasing the video on social media platform. Following this, the victim approached the Mahila Police Station and lodged an FIR.

Acting swiftly on the complaint, police registered a case and apprehended the accused.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have assured strict action under relevant sections of the law.
