Vikas Foundation Trust Chairperson Dr Mridula Thakur Pradhan Champions Girl Child Welfare In Sambalpur

Sambalpur, Oct 23: Dr Mridula Thakur Pradhan, chairperson of Vikas Foundation Trust, on Friday emphasised that protecting and respecting the girl child must be society’s foremost responsibility.

Extending her heartfelt wishes to all girls born in Sambalpur district during the auspicious period of Navratri, Dr Pradhan highlighted the significance of the Kanyaratna Sambardhana Samaroh, an initiative aimed at celebrating the birth of girls with pride and dignity.

She said efforts to ensure proper nutrition, good health, quality education and a bright future for girls would contribute to building a healthier and more prosperous society. The initiative seeks to promote a positive attitude towards the birth of girl children and raise awareness about their well-being, dignity and future prospects.

Dr Pradhan’s message reinforced the need for collective social responsibility in ensuring that every girl child receives the care, respect and opportunities necessary to thrive.

Earlier in the day, Dr Pradhan visited Maa Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur and offered prayers for the welfare and prosperity of society.

On October 22, Vikas Foundation Trust organised the 'Kanyaratna Sambardhana Utsav' in Anugola and Debagada districts to celebrate the birth of newborn girls during Navaratri and felicitate their mothers.

The initiative highlighted the importance of protecting and respecting the girl child, while promoting awareness about proper nutrition, healthcare, education and a secure future for girls.

Celebrating The Birth Of Girl Children
The programmes were attended by Dr Pradhan and several public representatives.

In Anugola, the event was attended by Pallahara MLA Ashok Mohanty, Anugola MLA Pratap Chandra Pradhan and Anugola district BJP president Jajati Pattanayak.

In Debagada, former MLA Subash Chandra Panigrahi and Debagada district BJP president Arun Kumar Sahoo attended the programme. Representatives of the district administrations were also present at both venues.

A key highlight of the celebrations was Dr Pradhan’s interaction with mothers of newborn girls. She shared in their happiness and emphasised the importance of recognising every girl child as a precious gift to her family and society.

Through the initiative, Vikas Foundation Trust sought to encourage families to celebrate the birth of girls and promote their health, education, dignity and overall well-being.
