Highlighting his personal involvement, Pradhan recalled visiting Kotia in April 2018, February 2019, and April 2023 to study the situation firsthand.

“To address the repeated interventions by Andhra Pradesh and the ongoing border dispute, I wrote letters on November 18, 2020, and October 31, 2022 to Odisha’s then Chief Minister and current LoP Naveen Patnaik, and on September 22, 2021 to Andhra Pradesh’s then Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, requesting dialogue and resolution,” he noted.

Pradhan stressed that political leaders bear a crucial responsibility in resolving such sensitive border issues. He advocated for high‑level, cordial discussions to create a favourable environment for a permanent solution.

He further invoked the sacrifices of Odisha’s great leaders, including Madhusudan Das, Gopabandhu Das, Fakir Mohan Senapati, Gangadhar Meher, and Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati Narayan Deo, who fought to safeguard the state’s territorial integrity.

“Their sacrifices will never go in vain. Our struggle to protect Odia identity will continue. Preserving Odisha’s unity and integrity is our collective responsibility,” Pradhan affirmed.
