Bhubaneswar, Jul 8: Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan will visit Odisha tomorrow, where he will participate in two major events in Bhubaneswar, officials said on Wednesday.

In the morning, the Vice-President will grace the National Launch Programme for the issuance of Letters of Authorisation (LoAs) for Sustainable Harnessing of Fisheries in the High Seas at the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT). During the programme, he will also unveil the Odisha Deep Sea Fishing Mission Document, a key initiative aimed at strengthening sustainable fishing practices and boosting the state’s marine economy.

Later in the day, Radhakrishnan will attend the 15th Graduation Ceremony of the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Khordha, where he will address graduating students and faculty. The event is expected to highlight the institute’s role in advancing scientific research and higher education in Odisha.

Officials said the Vice-President’s visit underscores the Centre’s focus on promoting sustainable fisheries and supporting scientific institutions in the state. His participation in both events is likely to provide momentum to Odisha’s efforts in marine resource management and academic excellence.

Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements are in place in the state capital in view of the Vice President’s visit. The Commissionerate Police has enforced temporary road closures and diversions tomorrow. Restrictions will peak along key routes like Airport Square, AG Square, Lok Bhavan, and roads to NISER during the morning and afternoon hours.
