Odisha has launched a dedicated online portal for school students to register grievances on academics, safety, and well-being. Accessible via www.smeuas.odisha.gov.in, the system allows direct reporting to the department, ensuring accountability and timely redressal of student complaints statewide.

Bhubaneswar, Jul 8: The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has launched a dedicated online portal for school students to register complaints and grievances related to academics, safety, and well-being. The initiative aims to provide a transparent and accessible mechanism for addressing student concerns directly at the departmental level.

According to officials, the portal — available at www.smeuas.odisha.gov.in — allows students to log in using their mobile numbers and submit complaints by providing details such as name, school, class, block, and district. They can also upload supporting photographs where necessary.

The portal is designed exclusively for students, not teachers, and covers a wide range of issues including academic difficulties, mental health concerns, classroom shortages, enrollment irregularities, caste or religion-related problems, child marriage, disability-related challenges, construction delays, drinking water supply, fake admissions, corporal punishment, mid-day meal irregularities, sexual harassment, and teacher absenteeism.

The School and Mass Education Department has directed district education officers to create awareness among students about the portal. Officials said the move complements the existing student helpline number, expanding access through a digital platform.

By enabling direct reporting, the portal is expected to strengthen accountability and ensure timely redressal of grievances. Authorities emphasised that the system will help safeguard student rights and improve the overall school environment across Odisha.
