Argus News - Veteran Odia Singer Geeta Patnaik Hospitalised in Cuttack

Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: Veteran Odia singer Geeta Patnaik was admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack and is undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a source said on Friday.

According to information received, Patnaik was hospitalised after suffering a brain-related ailment. She remains under close medical supervision, and doctors are monitoring her condition. No official bulletin on her health status had been issued at the time of filing this report.

Patnaik is known in Odisha’s music circles for her contribution to modern, folk and devotional Odia songs over several decades.

Patnaik is popular for her contribution as a playback singer in several Odia films over the decades. Songs rendered in her voice featured in films such as 'Jajabara', 'Akhi Trutiya', 'Nagaphasa', 'Ahuti', 'Tapoi' and among others.
