The administration has fixed the price of each 'Guja' and 'Anshuari' at Rs 20,000, while each 'Prabha' has been priced at Rs 50,000. A person acquiring one wheel from each of the three chariots will have to pay a total of Rs 9 lakh.
Applicants must submit the prescribed application form along with a fee of Rs 1,000. The administration will examine the applications before deciding on the allocation of the chariot components.
The deadline for applications has reportedly been extended three times. However, the reason behind the repeated extensions has not been clarified.
Earlier, after the chariots were dismantled each year, their major components were kept at the Shree Gundicha Temple, where exposure to rain reportedly caused deterioration. These components are now stored in a warehouse constructed near Masani Chandi Square after the chariots are dismantled.
