New Delhi, Mar 14: Like every year, this year also the Odisha Parba 2026, organised by Odia Samaj, has transformed the national capital into a cultural carnival.

The festival, now in its ninth edition, has become a vibrant showcase of Odia culture, heritage, and identity, drawing thousands of visitors and dignitaries. From folk performances to stalls brimming with artistry, the festival is a celebration of identity and belonging for Odias everywhere.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who attended the inaugural day of the celebrations as the chief guest, toured the venue, visited various stalls, and interacted warmly with participants and visitors, appreciating the diverse showcase of Odisha’s culture and traditions.

On this occasion, Argus Digital Editor Sangram Sarangi interacted with Union Minister Pradhan. He posed a series of questions, to which the Minister responded, sharing his thoughts on Odia identity, the vision for Odisha’s future, and the growing significance of Odisha Parba in the national capital.

When asked how he feels as an Odia when people gather in Delhi, Dharmendra Pradhan explained that the festival’s main purpose is to showcase Odisha’s traditions and culture to the national capital. With Odia dance, music, textiles, handloom, handicrafts, and food on display, he said it was a wonderful experience.

Nearly 1.6 million Odias live in Delhi. Why do you make such efforts to connect them?
This is our responsibility. When we move forward with the goal of 2036 — Viksit Odisha — for the people of Odisha, we must build a developed Odisha. We must build a developed India. Odisha must be made greater. Every Odia has the responsibility to take Odisha to greater heights.

Was Odisha Parba more vibrant last year?
Every year Odisha Parba comes in a new form. This is the ninth edition. In the coming days, it will become even grander. Like every year, more people will join. Truly, during Odisha Parba, Delhi is filled with the essence of Odisha.
