Puri, Feb 1: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has once again captured national attention with his creative expression on Puri beach. Ahead of the presentation of the Union Budget 2026 in Parliament today, Pattnaik crafted a striking sand sculpture to welcome the annual financial statement, blending art with civic awareness.


The sculpture, adorned with the message “Welcome #UnionBudget2026,” drew crowds of locals and tourists who gathered to witness the artist’s unique tribute. Pattnaik, known for his socially relevant themes, said the artwork was intended to highlight the importance of the budget in shaping the nation’s economic and social priorities.


Meanwhile, in New Delhi, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget in Parliament. Carrying forward her tradition of blending heritage with modernity, Sitharaman will present the budget documents on a digital tablet placed inside a red ‘bahi-khata’ style pouch.
