Burla, Feb 7: Police in Odisha’s Sambalpur district seized two vehicles and detained seven youths for allegedly performing dangerous stunts on a public road near Hirakud Dam, a source said Saturday.
The incident took place on South Dyke Road near the dam. Videos circulating on social media showed youths performing stunts using two cars, prompting concern among commuters and residents.
According to the source, the vehicles were driven in a reckless manner. Some individuals were seen sitting on the roofs of moving cars and posing for the camera. In one video, a youth was seen sitting on the roof of a moving vehicle while smoking.
Police said one of the incidents involved a Bolero on the Zero Point road near Jhankarani Temple. The vehicles were allegedly driven at high speed, at times in straight lines and at other times in a zigzag pattern, causing inconvenience to other road users.
