Bhubaneswar, Feb 1: A transgender person was stabbed to death near Uttara, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, on Sunday, a source said.

The deceased was identified as Anjali Kinnar, though further personal details are yet to be ascertained.

The motive behind the stabbing remains unclear, and police said no arrests have been made so far.

Following the incident, the victim was rushed to Capital Hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival, the source said.

Senior officers, including the Zonal ACP and the Inspector-in-Charge of Capital Police Station, reached the hospital and the crime scene to supervise the investigation.

The Commissionerate Police launched a probe and are examining possible angles behind the murder. Efforts are underway to identify the assailant and determine the sequence of events leading to the fatal attack.
