Cuttack, Nov 3: Three minor children lost their lives after they reportedly fell into a septic tank in Ragadipada village under Badamba block of Odisha’s Cuttack district.

The deceased include two boys aged 3 and 9, and a 7-year-old girl.

According to preliminary reports, the vitims had gone to their grandfather’s residence located in Ragadipada village. The kids were playing near the tank area when they accidentally fell into it.

Upon alert, family members and locals rushed to spot and rescued them. However, all three were declared dead.

Athagarh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Biswajit Mohanty confirmed the incident, stating that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.

“Separate cases of unnatural death have been registered, and further investigation is underway,” he added.

The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the village, with residents mourning the untimely loss of the young lives.
