Cuttack, Oct 1: At least three persons sustained injuries after a portion of the ceiling at a Durga Puja mandap collapsed in the Rajabagicha area of Cuttack on Wednesday.

According to reports, the victims were standing near the mandap when a section of the temporary ceiling gave way, crashing down with debris and water. Following the incident, three people were injured.
Immediately, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the victims to a nearby hospital.
A high alert has been issued for several districts following a forecast of heavy rainfall triggered by a well-marked low-pressure area over the westcentral Bay of Bengal.

The IMD has warned that the system is likely to intensify into a depression by October 2 and further into a deep depression before crossing the south Odisha–north Andhra Pradesh coast early on October 3.
