Cuttack, Nov 3: In a heartbreaking incident, three children lost their lives after accidentally falling into a latrine tank in Ragadipada village under Badamba block of Cuttack district in Odisha, police said on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Shubham Nayak (3), Shivani Nayak (7), and Ankit Nayak (9). All three children belonged to families from Badabarena and Ichhapur villages under the jurisdiction of Badamba police station.

According to reports, the children had come to visit their grandfather’s house when the incident occurred. While playing near the latrine tank, they accidentally fell in, leading to their untimely deaths.

After getting information, Badamba Police reached the spot, recovered the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examination.

Athagarh SDPO Bishwajit Mohanty said that separate cases of unnatural death have been registered for each child and further investigation is underway.

A pall of gloom descended over the village following the tragic deaths of the children.
